Borovetz is the oldest mountain resort in Bulgaria who often gathers the world’s ski elite and it has brought up a lot of ski champions. Huddled in venerable pine woods ,1390 m above the sea level ,in the feet of the highest peak in the Balkan Peninsula -Musalla (2925 m) Borovetz is 73 km away from Sofia,126 km away from Plovdiv and exactly 10 km from the town of Samokov.
Borovetz exists form the end of the the 19 th century as a hunting ground for the Bulgarian Kings .Slowly it became a modern ski resort from a high class with luxorious hotels restaurants that offer a number of possibilities for a fun and good spent time!
In the ski resort there are great opportunities for practing all of the winter sports like ski alpines disciplines ,ski ruuning ,ski jumps and and biatlon .
Borovetz offers great conditions for biatlon. The air is cristally clean .The middle temperature during January ,the coldest winter month is 4.6 C.
